Great-Grandma

We finally got some pictures of Riley with my Mom. 4 generations...pretty cool stuff.

Riley makes me laugh. She just makes some very serious faces. She loves great-grandma Lloyd.

This hat is one that my Grandma Winget made. That would be Riley's great-great grandma. I could never get my kids to wear them. But Riley looks adorable. We have others. Pink, white, purple. I can't tell next winter to see if she'll wear them.

Wow! It's been a while since I've posted anything. Not much happens in the life of an "old" married couple.
Let's see in February...hmm....we rested from December and January activities. Riley stayed overnight with us on Valentine's day. That was wicked fun. Katie went to a dance and Taylor focused on Karate. Taylor was made an "assistant instructor" in karate, she is getting pretty good and is very helpful. I have great kids!
March...wow the year is going by fast. Well Taylor's karate teacher is closing his doors. Taylor is very sad. But soccer is starting up again. So for right now we are going to focus on soccer. Katie and Taylor both had piano federation and recitals. Those were awesome! Oh, my van died! So I got a new car. It is kind of fun. A 2007 Dodge Nitro. It has a 2 inch lift package on it which makes comical for me to get in and out of. But it looks cool! I think my van was kind of a lemon. So, it's good to be rid of it. Oh, and my car payment went down $100 a month. I really like that. Things are starting to pick up in Vern's work again. He is busy again and hopefully that means good things are coming "soon". I know they're coming...It's the waiting that's hard! Not much else to tell. April is soon to be here and hopefully that will bring more sunshine. The kids have spring break coming up. Chelsea is coming home soon! I can't wait to see her.
Well ttfn (ta ta for now).

Family happenings!

So, It has been quite awhile since I've posted to the blog. I just haven't had much to say. (Strange, cause there's been alot going on the last month.) Annie is over and we had so much fun. I think I saw it a total of 5 times. But it's nice not to have that on our plates anymore. Taylor loved it though and wants me to find more plays for her to do. I'll have to post some pictures when I get them.

Chelsea has gone back to school. She is so much happier this year! I'm so glad. This time of her life should be happy. But I miss her.

Katie is preparing for Europe this summer. They had their first choir rehearsal on the 21st of January. It was very exciting.

The rest of the family went to the draper temple open house on the 21st. Taylor finally got to see inside a temple. She loved the celestial room. She is very anxious to be 12 so that she can do some temple work. It's awesome.

Vern had a friend from California come and he brought a new invention. It is a walker. They took it and put Michael in it. Michael actually took a few steps for the first time in 2 years. That is very exciting. I'll post the video as soon as I get it.

Vern gets to go and watch Riley every Thursday. I keep hoping that it will be my turn soon, but work keeps getting in the way. It's kind of a busy time for me. But it should start to slow down next month. So I'm going to try to take some turns watching her before they move to Kentucky this summer. She is growing so fast and is so beautiful! I love it when they come over. She has some awesome musical talents already. She dances, she sings, and she plays the piano. She is a genius. (Good genes!!!)

There has been a lot happening this last month. I am so grateful to my Father in Heaven for my beautiful family. I am truly blessed. I love them all. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and I'm grateful for Temples. Mine is truly an Eternal Family.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!!!
So we are full swing into the New Year.  We took Chelsea back to school this weekend.  She is very excited to be back at BYUI.  Katie and Taylor are really putting in the hours now on "Annie".  Opening Night is Thursday.  We are very excited to see the show.  School started today for Katie and Taylor as well.
2008 was a great year with a lot of new opportunities and old challenges.  I am truly grateful for my trials and the blessings that come from them.  I look forward to a super fantastic 2009!!!!

Christmas 2008

Wow! Christmas was great at our house.  We are truly blessed.  Christmas lasted nearly a full week for us.
Scott, Cassie, and Riley were headed to California for the holidays.  So we had a mini-Christmas with them on Sunday evening.  Mostly we exchanged gifts and watched Riley play with the paper from her gifts.  It was cool!

Christmas eve was just Me, Vern, Chelsea, Katie and Taylor.  But it was nice.  We opened our traditional Christmas Eve gift (yeah, the jammy thing).  Only this year we didn't do jammies, we did sweats for everyone.  After opening the traditional gift, we reread the Christmas story and celebrated the real reason for this season.

The next morning we got up (9:00 am and we still had to wake everyone up!).  Alex and Jon joined us and we opened our gifts.  It was such fun.  Santa must have thought we were all pretty good this year.  Especially Taylor (she got an iPod Shuffle and a sled from Santa.)

After opening the gifts, we had breakfast.  Vern and Alex worked together to feed the crowd.  It was awesome.

I am so grateful for my family.  I have been truly blessed!  I thank my Heavenly Father for my many blessings.  (Especially for my family and home).
After breakfast, we went to the care center to say Merry Christmas to Grandma and Grandpa Lloyd and Uncle Michael.  We watched as they opened their gifts.  Michael was a lot of fun, teasing us all.  We would say Merry Christmas and he would reply "Bah Hum Bug!".  Of course we know he was teasing because of the gigantic smile on his face.  It's such a blessing to watch as Michael continues to improve.
It truly was a wonderful Christmas!!!  I pray that each of you had the same experience and pray for your happiness.
